Where did you complete your training (or where are you still in training)?
Graduate. I completed Conscious Connected Breathwork facilitation with Make Some Breathing Space and functional breath coach with Oxygen Advantage.
What do you enjoy about breathwork and how has it helped you?
I enjoy that the breath is always with me. It can be my anchor when I need to feel more settled and grounded but also my energiser when I need to be uplifted or to help push and move some stuck emotions through.
Are you trained in any other modalities?
I have worked with children and families for over 20 years and have various qualifications in family relationships, attachment, behaviour management, coaching, mental health first aid, person centred counselling as well as a BSc in Medical Anthropology.
I am currently training to use Flow Rope to enhance my physical mobility and flexibility
How do they integrate with breathwork?
My professional experience with working directly with families often in heightened, chaotic and crisis situations means I can comfortably hold space for people throughout their breathing journey.
I would like to coach with Rope Flow to enable people feel to into their bodies and move more freely, along with being able to breathe more freely.
What is your personal journey?
The breathing techniques I have learned over the past few years have allowed me to stay calm, centered, focused and present when going through the loss of both parents. CCB breathing has allowed me to process negative, stuck feelings that have held me back.
What do you stand for, and what do you stand against?
I stand for freedom. Breathing allows me to feel free within myself. Breathing functionally has allowed more freedom with my health and physicality. Conscious connected breathwork allows me to feel free from mental chatter, to go deep within my personal psyche to listen and ‘be’ with myself.
What is your greatest wish for your clients
I want people to be able to feel some control over their lives and the breath can offer people this. Breathing is a direct link to the nervous system and therefore every other system of the body. Understanding and using different breathing techniques can improve the whole person, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually
